The Drama Triangle

Molly Allen, PsyD • September 26, 2021

There are three main roles in perceived conflicts.  Know them.

This past year I have been focusing on honesty, integrity, hard work, and joy.  I continue to learn many lessons about establishing and maintaining boundaries in relationships.  Along the way I have come across many nuggets of wisdom, including the 'Drama Triangle'.  The Drama Triangle explains how relationships can go off the rails - to rigid and dysfunctional roles.  Know when you are operating as the Rescuer, Persecutor, and Victim. If you want to have healthy relationships, choose to transform yourself into the Challenger, Coach, and/or Creator.
